Mr. Justice Nkrumah Ofori is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Tourism Management at Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU). He joined the University in February 2021 and is the first alumnus of the Department of Tourism Management to be employed as a faculty member in the department
His academic journey began at CCTU, then a Polytechnic, where he earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Tourism in 2010. He continued his education at the University of Cape Coast where he acquired both a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Tourism Management. Since joining the Department of Tourism Management, he has made significant contributions in the areas of teaching, grants proposal writing, curriculum development, and community service.
In his teaching role, Justice lectures in areas such as transport for tourism, rural tourism, culture and heritage tourism, and destination management. He has played an active role in curriculum development for the Department, including the design of the Two-Year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Tourism Management Top-up programme and the Four-Year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Tourism Management programme.
Justice has also been instrumental in securing external funding for the Department. He contributed as a team member to a successful proposal that earned a USD 35,000 grant from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, under the Ghana Tourism Development Fund, which provided equipment for establishing a Travel and Tour Resource Centre. Additionally, he collaborated on a winning proposal for the Nyansapo Grant for Higher Education Institutions (€40,000) to support the development of a Master of Technology (MTech) in Tourism Management programme
Beyond teaching and research, Justice serves as the Deputy Examinations Officer for the Department (since March 2021) and represents the School of Applied Arts on the University’s Sports and Recreation Committee. Recently, he was appointed secretary of a three-member committee tasked with reviewing the curriculum for the Two-Year BTech Tourism Management Top-up programme for reaccreditation by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
