George Agana Akuriba is a passionate and experienced agribusiness expert, educator and researcher, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience. He has successfully defended his PhD thesis in Agribusiness Management at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), while waiting for graduation in November, 2025. He holds an MPhil in Agribusiness from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management from KNUST. As a lecturer at Cape Coast Technical University and formerly at the Regentropfen University College, he has designed and delivered innovative curricula, mentored students, and supervised research projects. His work has empowered numerous young entrepreneurs and farmers, promoting sustainable practices and business acumen.
With a deep understanding of agriculture and agribusiness value chains, George has collaborated with and consulted for organizations like GIZ, Agromovil Inc., and Kosmos Innovation Center to develop and execute training programs that foster entrepreneurship among youth and women. His expertise includes research, business development, project management, and stakeholder engagement. An advocate for data-driven solutions, George excels in project evaluation, monitoring, and the use of digital tools to enhance farm business operations. His dedication to rural development, innovation, and sustainability has earned him recognition, including facilitating grants and publishing research on agribusiness and climate adaptation strategies. His research interest areas include agripreneurship and innovation, and agribusiness food policies, laws, and regulations.
In his engagements with the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), George has served as a National Trainer, on major national projects, including the Population and Housing Census, Integrated Business Establishment Survey, and Field Area Measurement Studies. In these roles, he has successfully trained and supervised hundreds of field officers and regional trainers, ensuring the quality of data collection and reporting to support national development efforts. George is committed to leveraging his skills and experiences to drive meaningful change in the agricultural sector, supporting youth and women to create resilient, impactful businesses.
