Profile

ENGR. AKOMAH BENJAMIN BOAHENE is a senior lecturer, the former HOD of the Department of Construction Technology and Management, and the current HOD of the Department of Environmental Management Technology. He is a leader and a passionate professional with over 19 years of experience at the Cape Coast Technical University in Ghana. I teach students from diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds with high ethical standards and integrity, excellent administrative and communication skills, and effective teaching approaches that promote teaching, learning, and research. My areas of specialisation include construction project management, project performance, health and safety, and procurement corruption. I am currently in the final year of my PhD programme in Construction Engineering and Management at VIT University in India, Tamil Nadu. I hold a Master of Philosophy in Procurement Management and a Bachelor of Science in Building Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Engr. Akomah also possesses an HND in Building Technology from the Cape Coast Polytechnic and a certificate in teaching and learning in higher education from the Technische University of Eindhoven. Engr. Akomah is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Ghana Institution of Construction (GIOC). I served two years as the Head of the Construction Technology and Management Department from 2021 to 2023. I am currently the head of Environmental Management Technology. I have researched several construction-related topical issues and participated in conferences, workshops, seminars, and international webinars. I have reviewed several papers for the following journals: Health and Safety at Work, Construction Economics and Building, Current Journal of Applied Science and Technology, Cogent Engineering Journal - Taylor and Francis, and International Research Journal of Public and Environmental Health.
