Profile
Michael Manford is a statistics lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Cape Coast Technical University, Ghana. His research interest is mainly statistical distributions and statistical methods. Manford currently holds a Master’s degree in Statistics and pursuing a Doctorate degree in Statistics at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
Manford has been assisting various students in their project work and also those doing their thesis at masters and Ph.D. levels in terms of their methodology and data analysis. In 2011, he worked with Family Health International (FHI 360) in one of their research surveys (Bio-behavioural Surveillance Survey) where he worked as a Central Regional Supervisor. In 2015, FHI 360 engaged him as a Field Supervisor again in their 2015 Bio-behavioural Surveillance Survey. He has also worked in the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance of Cape Coast Technical University as a Senior Planning Assistant. He is highly skilled in SPSS and Minitab. He is also competent in R-Console, Python, STATA, ArcGIS and MATLAB. In his professional life, he had to work with SPSS and Microsoft Access for data management. Apart from this, he is also an efficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and LaTex. With all that he has learned and experienced, he is always stimulated to dedicate himself to the field of Statistical Research. Among the significant areas of Statistics, he would prefer to put more emphasis on Statistical Distributions, Multivariate Analysis, Stochastic processes, Statistical Models and Time Series and Bayesian Statistics. He is currently working on “A multivariate Exponential Power Distribution” for his Ph.D. thesis.
Apart from the research and academic world, Michael Manford is a mentor, a community development advocator, an entrepreneur and a devotee of anything that adds value to his spiritual, personal, professional and academic development.
